Shenzhen is so close to Hong Kong so sometimes you don't even need to stay the night. Here is a collection of hotels I have stayed at and places I visisted. There are mainly 3 areas in Shenzhen where you can choose to stay and explore for a 2 day trip.

Lo Wu - The original Shenzhen, older complexes but some new hotels.

Futian - Latest Glitzzy area where all Hong Kong people go. Best options for everything.

Nanshan - More relaxed area with Expat community. Includes an acient town.

Accommodation

As I was bringing some first time China visitors, I wanted to show them something that's more uniquely chinese. We have decided to stay in this design hotel in the NanTou Ancient Town area.

Attractions

Nantou Ancient Town

Located in Shenzhen - within the Chinese Mainland’s Greater Bay Area, It’s the historical monument is just a 20-minute taxi ride from the Shenzhen Bay Port – but walking the 200 metres from the decorative archway on Shennan Road to the South Gate entrance is a journey through time itself. The past of Nantou Ancient Town is literally carved into the stone that lines the path, tracing a history dating back some 1,700 years.

Puli Theatre

Plenty of internation shows perform here. We were here for Chicago.

Zzer (2nd Hand Luxury Designer Shop)

This place was all over social media. Not a lot of popular models on good discout but if you have a unqiue taste you can certainly find some bargains here. They have 2 locations in SZ.

Aqila

A 24hr massage palour that spans over 2-3 floors with a diving experience corner. It is one of the bigger ones in Nanshan but it is a bit dated.

Restaurant and Nightlife

Food is at the heart of most Asian cultures and Shanghai is no different. Here are some of my finds in this trip.

東興樓

Famous for their Peking Duck. If you have a big group it is definitely better to book a private room. BYOB was also a bonus.

Sip Up

A Portugese pan-asian restaurants wth great private rooms and cute dishes. Food was above average. They ahve a large wine selection but the one we had was not great.

Lavo Music Lounge (Nanshan)

One of the only places where they play western live music
