Kuala Lumpur is not an obvious holiday destination for most people, however it is becoming more and more vibrate as a city. An invitation to a wedding was a great excuse to revisit this city hosting the tallest twin towers in the world!

Accommodation
As I have just got back from my Milan work trip, I know I wouldn't want to do a lot of tourist thing so I have decided go for something with a good location, China Town. Housed within the iconic conserved Lee Rubber Building in downtown Kuala Lumpur, Else Kuala Lumpur is poised to be a new beacon for the burgeoning neighbourhood, located in the crosshairs of the city’s creative and cultural landscape. The design is super chic and the overall standard of the venue really exceeded my expectation.
Getting Around
One thing I was surprised is how far the airport is from the city centre. It took us around an hour in a taxi. Grab will be your ideal transport option in KL.
Sightseeing
To be honest I have no plans to do too much sightseeing but here are the things that I DID go see. I spent most of my time in China Town.
Jalan Petaling (Fake Goods, Electronics and Street Food)
Petronas Twin Towers
China Town Culture Street Arts & Gallery (Cafes and Bars)
Central Market (Handy Crafts)
Restaurants and Nightlife
Concubine KL
We had our wedding party welcome drinks here and it is right next to the street art area. Food and drinks were great and has a private viewing spot on the famous mural.
Kafei Dian
The fried chicken was to die for.
Chocha Foodstore
The food was decent but some items were hit and miss as we ordered the tasting menu. It was the easiest option as we had such a big group. However some people were left hungry even after the meal.
G-String KL
Pretty chill bar with live music on occasional nights. The crowd was younger when we were there and music was crowd-pleasing.
Havana Bar & Grill
It is basically a Joe Bananas in the LKF of Kuala Lumpur.

MakaMakan
A cute restaurant down the road from the hotel, providing a more modern and comfortable surrounding for their famous stirred fried dishes!
Mono Lisa
Overall pretty decent restaurant with dishes around the world. The staff was friendly but can use with more menu training.
Bak Kut Teh
Located in the Tang City Food Court in China Town, this is one of the only places that offers Bak Kut Teh in the area. It seemed authentic and it was delicious.

Massages
Antara Spa Wellness
A relatively new and modern Spa close to the hotel. Booking in advance is well recommended. Shower facilities available after your treatment.
The Wedding
Tamarind Springs
A beautiful al fresco venue on the outskirt of the city. It was an honour to be invited by Lucy and Chase for such a joyful occasion and to catch up from everyone around the world.
